1. Introduction

FerryShare Technology Inc. ("FerryShare," "we," "our," or "us") operates a digital platform that connects private individuals for non-commercial cost-sharing trips, particularly on BC ferry routes and regional travel in British Columbia, Canada.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the FerryShare mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Platform").

By using FerryShare, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

When you book or offer a ride, limited profile information is shared with the other party, including your display name, profile photo, rating, and verification status. Your full address, phone number, and payment details are never shared directly with other users.

4.3 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person, investigate fraud, or enforce our Terms of Use.

4.4 Business Transfers

If FerryShare is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as dispute resolution.

Ride history, transaction records, and strike/suspension records may be retained for up to 7 years for tax, legal, and platform safety compliance purposes.

Platform Credits records are retained for the life of the account and for 12 months following account deletion or credit expiry.

FerryShare is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the app. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
